A lot of women don't know what yoni steaming is, I didn't until I read an Instagram post from 'nurturingnovas' who is one of my all time favorite women! Yoni steaming is like getting a facial steam, but for your yoni.
First off, what is a yoni?!
Yoni is a Sanskrit word that literally means the womb. It involves the divine procreation energy and all your goddess reproductive organs. I get that this kind of talk could turn some women off, especially if you don't want to have kids, but it shouldn't! You, as a goddess, should treat your body like a temple because it totally is! Self care is a huge thing that has been lost in how fast our daily life is now. Between work, home life, social life and social media; we don't take much time for ourselves anymore. Yoni steams take about one hour out of your day, per month. (or more if you're serious about yoni care) Most women have ovulation cramps, which yoni steaming helps relieve. Most women have painful periods, which yoni steaming helps relieve. Most women's bodies take quite a bit of time to recover from birth, which yoni steaming helps with. Girls, it helps with so much! I don't know about you, but if I could do something to take an hour to myself and help with cramping/period pain sign me up! I personally have PCOS, poly-cystic ovarian syndrome. Basically, I get lots of cysts on my ovaries. I have to take a hormone balancing medication to help with the symptoms. When I do a yoni steam it helps SO MUCH. When I slack on yoni steaming I'm bed ridden at least 1-3 days during my period due to pain.
Alright, so how does yoni steaming work?
Boil some water on the stove and transfer to a bowl that you can sit over. You can buy a yoni steam seat, or find a bowl that fits in your toilet bowl. Once you have your boiling water in a bowl, dump your herbal blend in! You can make your own mixture of herbs or head on over to Yoni Care Products on my site to buy a blend. Then you just chill for 20-30 minutes. You can take this time to meditate, read a book, or sit there with your hand on your womb area giving it intentional thoughts of healing. When you're done you can just dump your water out and clean the bowl! There is one rule of yoni steaming - don't do it on your period! It will make your bleeding heavier, which isn't nice. Do it the other weeks of the month. Ovulation time is best to help with cramping.
Love and Light,
Kavita
